#VirungaNationalPark News

(Posted 04th April 2023)

To encourage young children to act responsibly toward the environment, the Park has launched an environmental education program at 10 schools in Lubero. The program intends to develop a group of long-term environmental conservation ambassadors in each of their respective communities.

To mark this year's World Water Day, Virunga asked the inhabitants of Goma about the impact of the fresh water provided by Virunga Energies since 2020 on their lives. Despite being taken for granted by many of us, access to clean water and sanitation remains a significant issue for several communities.

To celebrate this year's International Women's Day, Virunga National Park supported the displaced women of the Kanyaruchinya camp near Goma. The management and employees of the Park have all donated funds to purchase food supplies, including rice, beans, and flour.
