Goma is currently facing a significant humanitarian crisis. Hundreds of thousands of individuals have been forced to flee their homes due to conflicts and compelled to seek refuge elsewhere.

Bageni, a male mountain gorilla in Virunga, challenged his father's position as the dominant silverback and formed his own troop of 20 individuals.

More than half of all known plant and animal species can be found in tropical rainforests, which occupy only 6% of the world's surface.
