Hope for a Forest
A reforestation project on a small area of land on the border of Gishwati National Park, Rwanda, is providing a new lifeline to the precious forest, and all its wildlife, including the eastern chimpanzee and Endangered golden monkey. Wilderness Safaris, in partnership with the Forest of Hope Association and Rwanda Development Board, has already propagated 10 000 saplings, and planted close to 10 000 more, which will quickly contribute to the restoration of habitat for the birds and wildlife in the forest, and deliver sustainable and tangible benefits to the communities around it.
