There’s been a lot of news recently so here’s a little summary as we wind down winter in SA…
Biggest news in July: Jao and King’s Pool opened and we had a successful Nedbank Tour de Tuli (waiting for stats before we can do the press release on the 14th successful tour)
Jao Camp – Inspired by the Delta and Purpose Into Action
· The new Jao Camp, a superlative high-end offering, encapsulates the Delta in its design, décor and colours. A palette of creams, greens, soft purple and yellow incorporate a unique botanical theme with special emphasis placed on the water lily abundant in the Delta. The walkways further speak to the sinuous channel of the Delta itself and sense of exploration of Jao Island. Read more about the inspiration behind the camp build here: http://bit.ly/2Zk3qAN
· Jao is a place dedicated to the conservation of the Okavango Delta and its unique ecosystem. Read about the camp’s purpose and remarkable impact on the biodiversity conservation of this UNESCO World Heritage Site: http://bit.ly/2wMO2AM
· King’s Pool is the heart of a conservation purpose that seeks to ensure the continued protection of a piece of land within the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, an enormous area that spans political borders – thus pivotal for elephant and wild dog dispersal and the existence of declining species like roan and sable antelope. · King’s Pool is a place of memories but also of migrations and movement – from meta-herds of elephant to carmine bee-eaters. It is the centre of ancient paths that cross borders, and even older tectonic plates. The renewed King’s Pool Camp celebrates past and present, ancient craft and modern innovations, unique wildlife and the trails they tread. Find out more: http://bit.ly/2RjWUXV
