UHURU DAY CLOSURE OF WILSON AIRPORT RESTRICTED TO JUST ONE HOUR

No sooner was the following article published (https://atcnews.org/2017/12/09/nairobi-wilson-airport-closure-yes-again/) about another Wilson Airport closure did Capt. Gilbert M. Kibe, Director General of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority pick up his phone to call this correspondent with the good news, that the closure under NOTAM A0288/17 was restricted to just one hour.
This is notably less than on previous occasions and no doubt will the air operators be happy about the reduced closure time as will be passengers flying from Wilson to the parks or beaches and vice versa.
Closure time tomorrow was given by Mr. Kibe as 08.20 hrs UTC until 09.20 hrs UTC or 11.20 hrs to 12.20 hrs local time in Kenya.
