EMIRATES ADDS CHICAGO AS 9TH US DESTINATION
(Posted 05th August 2014)
At 09.45 hrs local Dubai time will Emirates’s inaugural flight to Chicago take off, using a three class B777-200 aircraft with 266 seats for the nearly 15 hours nonstop flight. Chicago is linked to Dubai alreaady with a twice a week freighter service by Emirates Cargo and the daily passenger flights will each add a further 17 tons of uplift capacity to the route.
After launching Boston in March this year is Chicago the 9th destination in the United States, the others being New York, Washington DC, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
It is this level of connectivity, and the use of state of the art wide body aircraft including the largest passenger plane in the world, the Airbus A380, which makes Emirates a favourite with travelers from across the airline’s East African destinations Entebbe, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam.
With two departures from Nairobi and Dar es Salaam and one daily flight from Entebbe to Dubai and daily, at times multiple departures from Dubai to US destinations, is it a one way stop journey to reach the United States, in wide body comfort all the way unlike other Gulf competitors which use narrow body aircraft from East Africa to their hubs in the Gulf.
Emirates now flies to 140+ destination on all continents, is the largest operator of the A380 and continues to add more destinations as more aircraft are delivered to join one of the youngest fleets in global aviation. For more information click on www.emirates.com
