#WMTA2020 remains on course for early April

WTM AFRICA WILL TAKE PLACE SAY THE ORGANIZERS

(Posted 02nd March 2020)

Following enquiries by ATCNews about several African tourism trade fairs taking place, have Reed Exhibitions, the organizers of World Travel Market Africa, responded immediately with the following statement:

In light of the announcement of the cancelation of ITB Berlin on Friday, we would like to advise you that WTM Africa has no plans to cancel the event happening from 06 – 08 April 2020.

The decision has been made based on the fact that our exhibitors fall outside of high risk COVID-19 areas.

In terms of International Buyers attending the event, the following countries’ attendees will no longer be visiting WTM Africa 2020 in the interest of health and safety:

· China

· Korea

· Iran

· Italy

Considering this, I am pleased to advise that we have additional buyers from other countries that will be attending in their place to ensure that exhibitors will still enjoy a successful show.

We will continue to monitor all areas and the relative Buyer origins on a daily basis.

Further to this, additional hygiene precautions have been put in place and furthermore, alcohol-based hand sanitisers and tissues will be placed throughout the venue.

Reed Exhibitions takes our exhibitor, Buyer, visitor and staff’s wellbeing extremely seriously and all measures are being put in place to ensure that your health and safety is prioritised.

We ask that you also communicate the above to your readers should they have concerns.
