World Spa Awards – the global initiative to celebrate and reward excellence in the spa and wellness sector – has revealed the coveted winners of its landmark 10th annual programme.
Winners for 2024 include New York’s WORLD SPA, which took the title for ‘World’s Best Day Spa’. Switzerland’s Alpine Spa at Bürgenstock Hotel collected ‘World’s Best Hotel Spa’, whilst the opulent Palazzo Fiuggi, Italy reaffirmed its world-class wellness status by securing ‘World’s Best Wellness Retreat’. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech claimed ‘World’s Best Resort Spa’. ERAKULIS, the all-in-one wellness experience founded by Cristiano Ronaldo, was voted ‘World’s Best Wellness App’.
Standout newcomers include the incredible SHA Mexico, located amid the lush greenery of Rivera Maya, which sealed victory as ‘World’s Best New Wellness Retreat’. The profoundly calming Guerlain Spa at Raffles London at The OWO was awarded ‘World’s Best New Hotel Spa’. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, Greece clinched ‘World’s Best New Resort Spa’.
Destination winners include Dubai, with its dazzling array of both traditional and leading-edge treatments, named ‘World’s Best Spa Destination’ and Arizona heralded ‘World’s Best Wellness Destination’.
The announcement follows a year-long search for the world’s top spa and wellness brands. Votes were cast by industry professionals, the media, and the general public, highlighting the sustained growth and innovation within the sector.
Mandarin Oriental, which scooped 18 titles for individual properties, also enjoyed success at brand level by winning ‘World’s Best Hotel Spa Brand’. Aromatherapy Associates retained its title for ‘World’s Best Aromatherapy Brand’, while L’OCCITANE en Provence was honoured as ‘World’s Best Spa Brand’. Miraval Resorts & Spas was recognised as ‘World’s Best Wellness Retreat Brand’.

Other winners include The Symphony of Relaxation at One&Only Spa at One&Only Desaru Coast, Malaysia (‘World’s Best Spa Signature Treatment’); Banyan Tree Spa at Banyan Tree AlUla, Saudi Arabia (‘World’s Best Desert Spa’); The Edge Spa at The Lodge at Blue Sky, Utah (‘World’s Best Eco Spa’); Lanserhof Tegernsee, Germany (‘World’s Best Medical Spa’); Surrenne at The Emory, England (‘World’s Best Private Members Club Spa’).
