ZAMBIA ASSURED OF BIG PUBLICITY AS THE COUNTRY PARTNERS WITH ITB 2018
(Posted 10th November 2017)
Zambia, a safari destination in Southern Africa with a fast growing appeal, has scored big as the country was announced as the ITB 2018 Culture and Convention partner.
ITB is the world’s largest tourism trade show, held annually in the German capital of Berlin, and being named as a partner country will give Zambia priceless added publicity and visibility in the run up to and during the event.
The Zambian Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda commented that his country was one of the choice tourism destinations in Southern Africa with a wealth of natural tourism attractions – hundreds of waterfalls including the iconic Victoria Falls of the Zambezi River, lakes and rivers, national parks and other protected areas occupying about 10 per cent of the country and a pleasant climate throughout the year.
Zambia is next week hosting the UNWTO Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development in the capital Lusaka, further profiling the country as a major player in Africa’s endeavour to bring more tourists to the continent.
A UNIVisa with Zimbabwe and also including day visits to Namibia have further strengthened the country’s appeal to come visit and while in Zambia also spend time to explore neighbouring countries.
