Zimbabwe rubbishes ‘airspace closure’ reports

MALICIOUS AND TOTALLY FABRICATED, AKA FAKE NEWS‘ ABOUT ZIMBABWE AIRSPACE CLOSURE

(Posted 27th November 2019)

Zimbabwe was in the cross hairs of yet to be identified peddlers of fake news again, which in the wee hours of last night began to suggest that the airspace was closed and no flights were to take off or land while overflights were diverted into the airspace of neighbouring countries.
While there was an operational challenge earlier today, when some workers failed to arrive at their duty stations which delayed three flights from three airports, there was otherwise no known problem and certainly no closure of the airspace. Harare’s international airport, as per information confirmed just now, operates as usual as does Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.
Usually well informed sources promptly suggested that this was a coordinated attempt by elements opposed to the Zimbabwe government, which however for all intent and purpose failed.
