260 EXHIBITORS FROM 11 COUNTRIES ARE READY TO MEET 170 HOSTED BUYERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD AIMING TO DO BUSINESS WITH ZIMBABWE

(Posted 11th September 2019)

The twelfth edition of Sanganai is going underway tomorrow morning, Wednesday 12th of September, in the City of the Kings, aka Bulawayo.
Bulawayo has been playing host to the event for several years now and the exhibition spaces have been under increasing demand.
Source markets of buyers are both Europe and North America, China, Asia in general and the Pacific region but also buyers from across Africa and the Middle East, thanks to the much improved air connectivity for both Harare and Victoria Falls with leading international airlines.
Mainstream tourism exhibitors have set up in Hall 4 of the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre while tourism suppliers, tourism training institutions and small and medium enterprised with links to the industry occupy Hall 3 of the complex.

Countries exhibiting, especially on tourism bord level, are Malawi, Botswana, Nigeria, Kenya, India, South Africa, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, Angola and Ethiopia and of course Zimbabwe itself.

The Botswana stand will notably house over 15 exhibitors, a sign how keen Botswana is to exploit the opportunities of cross border tourism, aided by the UniVisa now in place which covers several countries for a mere 20 US Dollars more than the standard 30 US Dollars Visa fee.

ZTA has for the first time now launched an online booking system under which sellers and buyers can schedule their appointments in advance. So called Speed Dating is also available on the mornings of both 12th and 13th of September to allow buyers and sellers to meet in an informatl setting, check out mutual interest and then make proper meeting arrangements afterwards without the time pressure normally experienced at such trade shows.

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has prior to the event but also for the time afterwards set up familiarisation tours, for buyers and for invited media – the latter being represented by about 25 individuals from across the world and notably also from Africa.
