Zulu­land ele­phants rehomed in East­ern Cape

In an effort to estab­lish a sus­tain­able ele­phant pop­u­la­tion at Longhill Reserve in the East­ern Cape, two Zulu­land bulls were trans­lo­cated last week. This fol­lows last year’s suc­cess­ful move of a fam­ily of five ele­phants from Asante Sana Game Reserve in the Karoo to Longhill, which have adap­ted well. Mun­y­wana Con­servancy in Zulu­land car­ried out the most recent oper­a­tion, which will see the mature dom­in­ant and younger bull com­plete the herd and facil­it­ate nat­ural breed­ing dynam­ics.
