RWANDA SHINES AT VAKANTIEBEURS IN HOLLAND

Rwanda is this year participating in the most important Dutch international travel fair ‘Vakantiebeurs’ under the theme ‘Remarkable Rwanda’, showcasing the country’s numerous attractions.
Best known of course for gorilla tracking has the country’s tourism industry diversified in recent years with added emphasis on visits to the other two national parks of Akagera and Nyungwe Forest. Birding reserves outside the parks, operated by local communities, have gained in prominence in recent years as has of course the entire stretch of shoreline from Gisenyi to Kamembe along Lake Kivu.
The Rwanda stand is located in Hall 2 of the exhibition (Booth C050) and besides representatives of the Rwanda Development Board and the Embassy of Rwanda in The Hague, there will be 3 travel agencies present, namely Access Rwanda Safaris, Amahoro Tours and Mercator Assistance.
Next to the traditional Rwandan dance performances at the stand, Rwanda presents an original promotion. At the Rwanda stand will visitors find a photo-booth where they can take a photo ‘Rwanda Style’. Everyone calling on the Rwanda stand gets a free photo to take home as a souvenir and the photo can then be found online at www.facebook.com/travelrwanda
Those who took photos can check out the site and tag and share the photo with family and friends. RwandAir will reward the most popular photos with a free ticket to Rwanda to give the winner a real taste of the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’.
In the movie theater in Hall 2 will a Rwanda film be screened followed by a traditional dance daily from Wednesday 14th to Sunday 18th of January betweeen 12.30-12.45 hours.
Vakantiebeurs is the first of many international tourism trade shows RDB and Rwanda’s tourism private sector will attend this year, all aimed to draw yet more visitors to the country and establish yet another visitor record. 2014, according to a source in Kigali, has seen a new record of visitors and revenues but full data will be availed in due course for publication, when RDB has processed all the figures received from borders, the national parks and the hotels and resorts across the country.
