Cocktails – Made in Nairobi

COCKTAILS ANYONE – LOOK NO FURTHER THAN ‘EAT OUT’S’ COCKTAIL WEEK

(Posted 18th August 2014)

Nairobi, East Africa’s regional aviation hub, is well known for offering superb golfing with several championship courses, a racing course at Ngong where those who love betting on horses can have a field day every weekend and of course it is the place to be for anyone who fancies ethnic restaurants from across the globe. That said, the city is now also seeking to establish its regional superiority in the subject of drinks as the ‘Nairobi Cocktail Week’ is set to go underway in a few days.

25 participating bars, including some of Nairobi’s best, will be offering the widest variety of cocktails at a uniform cost of 400 Kenya Shillings each, the equivalent of about 5 US Dollars, allowing even those on a limited budget to sample several drinks at one place or, best with a designated driver, while bar hopping across town.

Organized by Kenya’s Foodie magazine ‘Eat Out’, details about which can be accessed by clicking on the following link: http://magazine.eatout.co.ke/ will this inaugural event no doubt excite the tastebuds of locals and tourists alike.

The Nairobi Cocktail Week follows the Nairobi Restaurant Week earlier in the year, also reported about here at the time, and will offer invitational events like tastings and cocktail parties as well as seeing the ‘mixology’ classes for those keen to mix their own poison at home without being pulled over by the traffic cops.

Twitter users can follow the event by typing the following hashtag line #NCW2014 and read updates as the event goes underway in 10 days’ time.

Just one more piece of evidence that Kenya still got what it takes.
