After a gap of 7 years has the Seychelles Regatta returned with a bang and the four day event which ended over the weekend is according to information received from Victoria now here to stay.
Initially launched in 2009 and then held in 2010 and 2011 did the sailing event criss crossing between the inner islands of the archipelago this year attract 9 yachts with more than 100 crew onboard.
French skipper Franck-Yves Escoffier took the honours for Team ISPC/Mason’s Travel though most of his crew on board were made up by experienced Seychellois sailors who knew the waters intimately well, no doubt playing a major role in bagging victory.

Second came an all lady crewed boat skippered by Swiss Justine Mettraux who took her runners up position in a stride, promising to return in 2019 with the aim to win the race.
The race was supported by the Seychelles Tourism Board and organized by French based ‘Publi Voile‘.
