MORE AVIATION WORKSHOPS COMING TO KIGALI
(Posted 21st June 2015)
The arrival later on this month of another Bombardier Q400NextGen off the assembly line will bring RwandAir’s fleet to 8 aircraft. RwandAir a month ago became a member of IATA and holds since the end of 2014 IOSA Certification. The rise of aviation in Rwanda, arguably spurred by the growth of RwandAir into a respected carrier with an excellent track record, has therefore attracted the attention of AVIASSIST. The organization has identified the need for aviation personnel, from airlines over airline staff (pilots and maintenance engineers) on to the staff of national regulators RCAA to receive additional training in relevant fields and topics, to keep air operations in the region safe.
Flight data collection, data analysis and interpretation are of key importance to safe operations and keeping aircraft continued airworthiness assured. A course is now being offered for the 17th and 18th of November and is due to the topics complexities only accepting up to 10 participants.
This latest in a series of courses planned for Kigali will give in particular Rwandan aviators to acquire crucially important added skills, in line with ICAO expectations for member states to enhance competence and meet performance targets during audits.

Understand Flight Data Collection & Analysis
Flight Data Management (FDM) helps pilots, managers and operators improve the safety and efficiency of their flights by identifying hidden flaws and potential risks in their daily operations.
FDM uses routine information from normal flights to predict and prevent problems to pre-empt disaster.
FDM helps operators and pilots learn the lessons of their next accident before that accident has a chance to occur.
FDM is now also coming to the world of Cessna Caravans & Jetstreams. This unique in-region course will provide you with a solid appreciation of the technical, operational, management and legal issues surrounding FDM.
