Entebbe International Airport (EBB) recorded approximately 239,393 airline seats in July 2026, according to AeroTrail tracking, with intra-African operations accounting for 68% of total capacity. 5 July was the airport’s busiest day of the month, with approximately 9,407 seats scheduled.
Addis Ababa Bole (ADD/HAAB) remained Entebbe’s largest airport pair, with approximately 43,622 seats, highlighting the importance of the Ethiopia–Uganda air corridor.
Ethiopian Airlines was the dominant carrier at Entebbe, accounting for approximately 61,878 seats, or 26% of total capacity during the month. Boeing aircraft accounted for 57% of the airport’s capacity, while the Boeing 737-800 (B738) emerged as a key workhorse on the network.
According to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Entebbe handled 156,342 international passengers in July, comprising 86,586 arrivals and 69,756 departures. This represented a 25,096-passenger increase from June’s 131,246 passengers. However, the recovery remains mixed. July international passenger traffic was 70,667 passengers below July 2025, indicating that the airport has yet to return to its previous-year passenger levels.
Cargo performance was more encouraging. Entebbe handled 4,799 tonnes of international cargo, up from 4,140 tonnes in June, representing a 15.9% month-on-month increase. Exports accounted for 3,123 tonnes, compared with 1,676 tonnes of imports.
Overall, July paints a mixed picture for Uganda’s principal international gateway: stronger month-on-month passenger and cargo activity, but continued year-on-year pressure on international passenger volumes.
