Over the past seven days, we have trailed another busy week across routes, fleets, partnerships, infrastructure, regulations and more, capturing some of the developments shaping Africa’s aviation landscape.
Here are a few highlights from Week 38:
? Routes Trail
Two notable routes stood out this week—one intercontinental and one intra-African.
Enugu Air launched its first international service, commencing twice-weekly flights between ENUGU, NIGERIA ?? and DOUALA, CAMEROON ?? on 23 September 2026. The new service establishes a direct air link between southeastern Nigeria and one of Central Africa’s key commercial centres.

?? Fleet Trail
Africa’s airline fleets continued to evolve, with six operators inducting aircraft during the week.
Among the highlights, Royal Air Maroc took delivery of a brand-new Boeing 737 MAX, while the Burundi Air Force added a Boeing 737 freighter. In KENYA ??, Phoenix Aviation Limited expanded its fleet with a Cessna Aircraft Company Citation Sovereign (C680), registered 5Y-PAJ.

? Partnership Trail
Aviation partnerships and bilateral agreements also featured prominently this week.
#Trinidad&Tobago signed Air Services Agreements with GHANA ??, while RWANDA ?? and CYPRUS ?? concluded an ASA aimed at creating a framework for stronger bilateral air connectivity.
Beyond the headlines, several other partnerships and agreements are positioning African aviation for new opportunities in connectivity, technology, training and market access.
