? Routes: Launches & Announcements
Four new routes were launched this week, including Freebird Airlines’s first route to Africa, Air Algérie’s new Germany service, Medsky airways’ return linking France and Libya after a 15-year hiatus, and a new domestic service in #KENYA.
Ethiopian Airlines also announced new routes to SOUTH AFRICA, #MOZAMBIQUE and #NIGERIA, among other developments.

Fleet Trails
Four brand-new aircraft joined African airline fleets this week—three Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for Ethiopian Airlines and EGYPTAIR, plus an Airbus A320neo for Air Cairo.
Meanwhile, Air Peace Limited, Africa World Airlines Limited, CALLY AIR/ValueJet and others recorded further fleet developments.

KENYA commissioned a new air traffic control tower at Kisumu International Airport and signed an agreement with Swedish aviation consultancy IBG to support the modernisation of air traffic management infrastructure at JKIA.
In ZIMBABWE, a potential stock-market listing for Air Zimbabwe is being considered as part of efforts to raise capital for the national carrier.

Agreements & Partnerships
CANADA and TUNISIA expanded their bilateral Air Transport Agreement, while NIGERIA began reviewing its BASA with SAUDI ARABIA to strengthen Hajj airlift opportunities.
Meanwhile, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services partnered with CargoAi to expand digital cargo booking, capacity visibility and pricing access.
