Africa’s youngest premium lounge for passengers flying on Africa’s youngest fleet

IT IS D-DAY FOR KENYA AIRWAYS’ NEW TERMINAL 1A LOUNGES

After spending over 120 million Kenya Shillings has Kenya Airways opened their new Pride Lounge, a state of the art premium passenger facility setting new standards for the African continent.

The new lounge is open for passengers flying in Kenya Airways’ award winning business class, top tier ‘Flying Blue’ frequent flyer card holders and for First Class and Business Class passengers of KQ’s partner airlines from SkyTeam, who qualify for entry.

Nearly 1.000 square metres of lounge space allows for multiple areas dedicated for special purposes and special needs, such as a soundproof quiet space, separate dining and working areas, washrooms now also featuring shower cabins, a special child zone and even a cigar room for those who feel the need to light up. Access for persons in wheelchairs and with other disabilities have also been incorporated in the lounge layout to ensure that passengers with physical challenges can equally enjoy all the facilities. A new range of food items and menu selection is giving travelers in the lounge also a preview on what to expect when in the air where new menus have been launched to match the new inflight cabin experience on the airline’s B787 Dreamliners and B777-300ER’s.

High speed wireless internet access is, needless to mention, available to lounge users as are work station with the latest equipment available. The Wi-Fi access is then continued in the air later on for those passenger flying out of Nairobi on the Boeing B777-300ER on long haul flights to Amsterdam and to the airlines’ Chinese destinations.

The staff deployed at the lounge have undergone special training to be able to meet the highest expectations from passengers to answer questions, make changes to travel itineraries and rebook flights, all in line to create yet better brand loyalty for regular premium passengers.
