Air Seychelles makes major contributions to the Seychelles’ economy

Air Seychelles has become a major employer on the archipelago and recently released data suggest that the airline supports 7.800 jobs, has added 235 million US Dollars to the national GDP and is responsible for 2.3 percent of the Gross Domestic Product.
The passengers uplifted last year stood at over half a million, a milestone reached in mid December last year and the addition of new scheduled services last week to Bird Island has widened the scope as previously only Praslin was served with scheduled flights while other islands had to do with charter services on demand.

Skytrax has ranked Air Seychelles as a four star airline and more recently declared the airline the best in the Indian Ocean region and among the top ten in Africa.
Flying in partnership with Etihad Airways is Air Seychelles benefiting from an increasing number of code shared services with other partner airlines, to Europe and also into India where the now 5 weekly flights link into the Jet Airways network across the sub continent, generating extra traffic for the archipelago.
The airline now also flies five times a week to Mauritius, four times a week to Johannesburg, four times a week to Antananarivo and in conjunction with Etihad double daily to Abu Dhabi.
Notably does Air Seychelles now again serve Paris nonstop several times a week, lifting arrivals from France to the islands into the top spot of tourists countries of origin.
