Air Seychelles too records double digit passenger rise in Q1 of 2017

12 PERCENT RISE IN PASSENGER NUMBERS HAS AIR SEYCHELLES LOOK AT ANOTHER RECORD YEAR

Air Seychelles passenger numbers on a year on year comparison are up by 12 percent in the first three months of 2017.
While last year 128.000 passengers were counted on Air Seychelles flights has this number risen to 143.000 passengers this year, resulting in higher load factors and a rise in revenues.
The domestic operations of Air Seychelles recorded an even higher growth with 13.7 percent more passengers uplifted with a now totally renewed Viking Twin Otter fleet.
Jean Weeling-Lee, Chairman of Air Seychelles, said: ‘Air Seychelles continues to fly high in 2017 and is delivering remarkably on its mandate of supporting the growth of tourism in Seychelles.More and more people are choosing to fly with Air Seychelles, cementing our position as the airline of choice in the Indian Ocean‘.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles also added his voice when he commented: ‘“Our strong performance in Q1 2017 is a testament to the effectiveness of our business strategy and unwavering focus on our guests.It is even more impressive as these numbers were largely achieved prior to the introduction of our new Airbus A330, two new Twin Otter turboprops, and the expansion of our network to Düsseldorf and Durban, which all occurred in mid to late March‘.

Meanwhile has Seychelles’ national airline joined hands again with the Seychelles Tourism Board for another roadshow in Germany which has emerged this year as leading source of tourists coming to the archipelago, again overtaking France.
The cities targeted are new Air Seychelles destination Duesseldorf but also Frankfurt and Stuttgart.
The delegation from Seychelles includes Victor von Schweinitz, Sales Executive for Air Seychelles, Edith Hunzinger from STB, representatives from top hotel establishments and resorts including Constance Hotels, Le Duc, Valmer Resorts, Eden Bleu, Hilton Seychelles and Raffles, and tour operator 7° South.

The group will meet major travel agents from Germany to promote the Seychelles tourism offering as well as the two-per-week nonstop air connection between Düsseldorf and Seychelles launched by Air Seychelles on 30th of March.

The introduction of our non-stop service to Düsseldorf has created a fantastic opportunity to grow our tourism links to Germany, and it’s important that we all work together through a coordinated approach to ensure it is a success‘.

Mrs. Sherin Francis, Chief Executive Officer of STB, said: ‘We are delighted to partner with Air Seychelles on this multi-city tour of Germany, which will deepen our presence in this important travel market.The recent launch of flights to Düsseldorf has greatly improved air access to Seychelles and this roadshow is designed to capitalize on that momentum by strengthening our trade ties in Germany‘.

In addition to featuring presentations, each workshop included a raffle draw for two tickets to Seychelles with Air Seychelles.
