Air Seychelles together with Tourism Seychelles has recently participated in OTM and
SATTE in India and IMTM in Israel this February.
The OTM is the largest and most international gathering of travel trade buyers and
professionals in India and across Asia. The annual event was held in the busiest
financial city of Mumbai between 02nd and 04th February.
SATTE (South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange) which took place in Delhi between
09th to 11th February is recognized as Asia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition.
Conducive to conduct business, share knowledge, and to exchange ideas in order to
arrive at solution-driven innovations to accelerate the pace of the growth of the
industry.
Both travel fairs in India garnered the attention of more than 50 countries, 1500 trade
visitors and over 1000 exhibitors and provided the airline the platform to promote its
services, products, and best travel options to paradise.
Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles said: “India remains a
pillar of our regional network, and we are constantly finding ways to stimulate demand
on the route. We look forward to increasing flights throughout 2023 as pre-Covid levels
return to normal”.
Air Seychelles was represented at the OTM and SATTE by Sales Manager Eliza Moise
and representatives from its general sales agent based in India, Bird Travels Private
Limited.
In the vibrant city of Tel Aviv, Acting Chief Executive Officer Sandy Benoiton, Chief
Commercial Officer Charles Johnson, Sales Manager Crystal Abrams and Sales &
Marketing Executive Franchesca Vital represented Air Seychelles at the 29th edition
of the IMTM (International Mediterranean Tourism Market) Expo over the 14th and 15th February.
Dubbed as “a true market place for Mediterranean travel” the IMTM attracted a large
scale of visitors and travel trade professionals. The national carrier’s presence proved
a great opportunity as it was able to establish contacts and remained firm as the airline
of choice for travelers in Israel.
Speaking on the importance of attending such trade fairs, Acting Chief Executive
Officer, Sandy Benoiton commented ‘it’s a great opportunity for us to represent
Seychelles in the Israeli marketplace. Israelis now have more destinations to choose
from than ever before, and solidifying new contracts and meeting with existing partners
reaps benefits for a whole year. Air Seychelles has firmly become the carrier of choice
to the Indian Ocean islands for Israelis, and our intention is to maintain our market
share on the route despite growing competition from other carriers”.
The airline also earlier today announced additional flights to Israel as follows:
During the upcoming Passover holidays in April, Air Seychelles is scheduled to
operate over 26 flights between Seychelles and Tel Aviv carrying over 2000 Israeli
visitors to the island. Besides the normal twice-weekly commercial flights, additional
flights to Seychelles to meet the heavy demand have been added along with charters
from Tel Aviv to Mauritius and Maldives.
