In celebration of its upcoming 40th anniversary scheduled to take place this Friday, 26th of October 2018, did Air Seychelles yesterday host a group of 24 students from the Baie Saint Anne and Grand Anse primary schools on a 15 minute scenic flight over Praslin.

The first Twin Otter DHC-6 400 aircraft which took off at 12:10pm at the Iles Des Palmes Airport in Praslin was followed by a second flight at 12:40pm with a batch of 12 students each accompanied by their teachers and an Air Seychelles representative.

Flying at low altitude, the scenic flight operated by Captain, Balaji Naidoo and First Officer, Jean Paul William allowed the young aviation enthusiast the chance to experience a bird’s eye view of the most amazing spots in Praslin including the well-known coastline of the famous Anse Lazio beach.

Remco Althuis, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles said: “Air Seychelles started its operations as an inter-island carrier before it began its long-haul services in 1983 and now as the airline is set to celebrate an important milestone we decided to come back to Praslin, the place where it all started. It was indeed an immense pleasure to welcome the children on our scenic flight today and I am sure that under the guidance of our flight team they gathered useful information to implement in their educational programme”.

After the flight the children met with the Air Seychelles Praslin Station Manager, Norbert Lepathy who happily shared his 35 years of experience with them. The children were also provided with Air Seychelles gift bags to take home as a souvenir of the day out apart from enjoying a delightful cake sponsored by SkyChef to celebrate the airlines upcoming 40th anniversary.
