#Atta – Important update on filling vacancies on the Advisory Board
Following the adoption of the new articles of association at the EGM held on 6th November 2018 at WTM London we will now be forming the new Advisory Board of the association.
The Advisory Board consists of elected and co-opted members of the association and is responsible for the conduct, future growth and strategic vision of the association. There are a total of 8 elected advisory board positions available representing the membership in the following geographical areas:
UK
Europe
East Africa
Southern Africa
South Africa
International Source Markets
Advisory Board Members will be:
Director Level
Connected with your local tourism board or local trade association
Respected as a leader in African Tourism within your region
Well connected to a key source market
Able to be the voice and face of Atta in your region
Support Atta HQ in the planning, organisation and execution of Atta events locally
Be able to provide support and wise counsel to Atta HQ with regards to problems and issues raised by Atta members in your region
Advisory Board Members will be expected to:
Attend 4 Advisory Board Meetings annually to be held online
Provide a status report from your region at each board meeting
Contribute to the development of Atta member benefits
Where possible attend Atta events and functions
Applicants must be directors, proprietors or employees of a full fee paying member. He/she must be proposed by a director of proprietor of that company.
Please note former directors who have served a full 6 year term or who have resigned from the board are not eligible to apply
