Further to the report earlier today about the inaugural flight from Manchester to Addis Ababa – marking the launch of Ethiopian Airlines’ second destination in the UK – has AviaDev’s Managing Director Jon Howell taken the opportunity to speak with the airline’s CEO Tewolde Gebremariam while on board.

Said Jon after arrival in Addis Ababa to ATC News: ‘I sat down with the Group CEO and discussed the Manchester route, SAATM, equity partnerships and asked how he would respond to those who accuse ET of monopolising the African market‘ of course to a good part referring to the increasingly frustrated #KenyaAirways CEO Mikosz, whose recent failures prompted him to lash out at Africa’s most successful airline group.
