The Foundation is pleased to announce two certificate courses at the AviAssist Safety Promotion Center (ASPC)-Rwanda. Both unique in-region opportunities not to be missed!
Human Factors in Aviation
Kigali, Rwanda 18-19 April US$ 250
Human performance is fundamental to operational safety in aviation as the majority of incidents and accidents are attributable to human error. This course introduces participants to the principles of human factors awareness, the factors that affect personal performance and how the human element interfaces with equipment, the working environment, the tools to be used and the organizational context.

Instructor Frank Klap will take you through this two days intensive course which is in the form of lectures, group exercises and plenty of moderated interactive discussions. The course will be of particular value to air traffic controllers, pilots & trainee pilots, flight safety officers, regulators, aircraft maintenance & repair companies, accident investigators, aircrew representatives, aviation students, but also to professionals from other modes of transport and the healthcare sector.
The course fee of US$ 250 includes:

Airport Wildlife Management
Kigali, Rwanda / 17-20 April – US$ 500
This course teaches the knowledge, skills and tools needed to implement an effective airport wildlife management plan. Numerous African airports face airport wildlife management risks that need to be addressed.The management of wildlife on and near airports is not usually an easy task. It can be as diverse as habitat manipulation to use of predators to repelling wildlife to lethal control of wildlife. Understanding wildlife hazards will increase chances for the implementation of a stakeholder supported wildlife management plan.

Your team of instructors will take you through this four day intensive course which is in the form of lectures, field exercises, group exercises and plenty of moderated interactive discussions. A guest lecture by a senior KLM Royal Dutch Airlines captain will add further depth to the course by providing a cockpit and airline perspective to the topic. The course will be of particular value to:

  • Airport wildlife management staff
  • Airport fire fighters
  • Safety managers
  • Aerodrome safety inspectors
  • Airside management
  • Airport (operational) staff
  • Ministerial, district & city planning department staff
  • Environment Management Agency staff
  • Air Force Personnel
  • Dispatchers, pilots & other airline operational staff.
