20 finalists took part in this year’s fashion show organised by the Italian embassy in Uganda, dubbed the ‘Revolution Show’ which happened already way back in March this year.
While the quality of presentations left no doubt about the mettle of the contestants, one designer’ presentations stood out, and not only because they were largely kept in black. Clare Asiimwe ‘Bantu’, who designs under the logo Bantu, stood out and was the deserved winner of the top prize that evening.

We were amazed by the quality of outfits presented,” said one of the judges, Paris-based Stella Atal before adding: “But Clare’s were evidently different, maybe because she had some prior training by one of Uganda’s leading designers, unlike the others‘.
While all the 20 participants were given gifts by #BrusselsAirlines did Clare win a three week mentoring course in Rome, tickets and all included.

ATCNews extends best wishes to Clare who will no doubt return to Uganda with added skills and knowledge about what makes the fashion industry tick and how to even better showcase her creations.
