Welcome back after the northern hemisphere summer break. In this edition, we share three new papers, an update on SAF Registry interoperability, and the results of pilots exploring how registries can support regulatory claims. You will also find opportunities to meet the Registry team and a short survey to help shape future Registry enhancements.

SAF Registry Interoperability: Pilot Completed, Framework Released
Earlier this year, the CADO SAF Registry, 123Carbon, and Assure SAF Registry completed the first interoperability pilot between SAF registries, focused on helping prevent the double issuance of SAF environmental attributes across registries. Following the successful pilot, interoperability checks are now implemented operationally between the participating registries. The pilot was underpinned by the SAF Registry Global Interoperability Framework & Principles, developed by IATA in collaboration with CADO, 4AIR, and 123Carbon. The Framework is designed to provide a practical foundation for cross-registry interoperability while preserving the independence of participating registries.
UK and Japan pilots and the CEF claims paper
The CADO SAF Registry conducted two successful pilots with government authorities in the UK and Japan, verifiers, and airlines, demonstrating its ability to support both CORSIA and national frameworks, in addition to voluntary SAF claims. The pilots tested key functionalities on the Registry including State accounts and auto-populated CEF claim forms. The results demonstrate the Registry’s readiness to streamline regulatory reporting while strengthening transparency, oversight, and trust in SAF accounting.

Corporate SAF Workshop in Singapore
Planning to be in Singapore in late September? Join us on 29 September for a half-day workshop hosted by CADO, IATA, and SAFCo. We’ll cover SAF book-and-claim, environmental attribute management, SAF accounting and reporting, and the role of registries.
The workshop is designed for corporate sustainability professionals, business travel managers, procurement specialists, shippers, freight forwarders, and intermediaries. Space is limited and attendance is free.

GBTA Sustainability Summit in Vienna

Help Us Improve the Registry
The CADO SAF Registry has now been running for almost a year and a half. Since its launch in April 2025, we’ve added new features, delivered training sessions, and worked closely with key stakeholders across the SAF value chain.
