Change at the helm of Private Safaris in Kenya

PRIVATE SAFARIS EAST AFRICA GETS NEW CEO

(Posted 28th May 2014)

Kuoni owned Private Safaris has announced that long serving CEO Frank Glettenberg will be leaving Nairobi with destination South Africa where he will take charge of Private Safari’s Southern African operating units in South Africa and Namibia. Frank will be based in Cape Town.

He will according to information received from Nairobi be succeeded by Thomas Goosmann who rejoined Private Safaris last month with the mission to take over from Frank.

The change is taking place at a time when Destination Kenya is struggling with negative publicity abroad and sharpish anti travel advisories spearheaded by the FCO in London but equally taken up by countries like the United States and Australia, seriously impacting on the tourism industry in Kenya where arrival numbers have continued to drop over the past two years.

Private Safaris was formed nearly 40 years years ago in Switzerland by Mr. Beat Frey and has since been acquired by Kuoni. The company is one of Kenya’s leading DMC’s and specialized in tour and safari operations, handling of incentive and conference groups and looking after the business of Kuoni’s European operations.
