MORE GOLD FOR CHELI & PEACOCK’S CAMPS

Elsa’s Kopje, Kitich Camp and the Lewa Safari Camp have joined Kenya’s elite of EcoTourism Kenya Gold rated safari properties when the latest rankings were released recently, making it five overall for Cheli & Peacock. Their Joy’s Camp, Elephant Pepper Camp and Cottar’s 1920 Safari Camp already hold this coveted ranking while Tortilis, the company’s first camp operation, is presently ranked as with a Silver award.
Kenya, after the latest round of environmental audits by EcoTourism Kenya, now has a grand total of 17 safari properties in the top level of best green practice, a rounding vote of confidence that the destination very much still got what it takes to give visitors that holiday of a lifetime.
Stefano Cheli could not hide his pride over this unprecedented accomplishment when he said: ‘Our ethos has always been to establish eco-responsible camps and lodges and to create conservation models in direct partnership with local communities. These awards not only acknowledge our continuous efforts, but validate why it is that we do what we do, bringing us one step closer to achieving Gold Eco Certification all round.
