Clare Akamanzi returns to the Rwanda Development Board as CEO

AKAMANZI RETURNS TO RDB AS GATERE EXITS

Clare Akamanzi, who previously served at the Rwanda Development Board as Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO, has returned to RDB after a stint as the Head of Policy and Strategy in the President’s Office.
Clare replaces Mr. Francis Gatare, who moved to the newly created Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board.
As CEO of the Rwanda Development Board, under which the Department for Tourism and Conservation falls, is Clare now automatically a member of the Rwandan cabinet as she serves at the helm of one of Rwanda’s most influential and crucial parastatal bodies.
Mr. Emmanuel Hategeka was at the same time appointed to become RDB’s Chief Operating Officer.
Notably was among the various changes approved by cabinet also the Rwanda Natural Resources Authority dissolved and broken up into several separate legal entities, among them the new Rwanda Water and Forestry Authority.
Belise Kariza remains as Head of Department for tourism and conservation under the title of Chief Tourism Officer and is expected to be in Kampala later this month for the annual ‘Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo‘ representing Rwanda.
