Halliburton launches EOI opportunity to support Africa’s oil and gas industry, African Energy Chamber reports

According to the African Energy Chamber, Halliburton is inviting eligible local companies to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the supply of goods and services across the oil and gas industry. With various categories available, the EOI aims to assess local interests and capabilities, connecting players to oil and gas projects. Following submissions, a competitive bidding process will lead to the selection of preferred and alternative suppliers. The African Energy Chamber (AEC) says that Halliburton’s EOI will lead to “enhanced participation by African-based companies and service providers and is a testament to the role international companies can play in spearheading local content– even in countries without a dedicated local content law in place.”…Read More>>

Nigeria’s daily crude oil production nearing 1.7 million barrels, says Kyari

Kyari said the 1.7 million barrels per day was a boost from the 1.28 million barrels reported in April. He disclosed this when he addressed stakeholders at an engagement between the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists and the NNPCL in Lagos on Saturday. “As of today’s data, we’re inching to 1.7 mbpd. We won’t celebrate this. On 17th of April 2020, our production, without doing anything, without drilling new wells, shot to 2.2 mbpd,” Kyari said. Kyari noted that Nigeria’s crude oil production keeps dropping due to oil theft and vandalism and called for the need to fight insecurity in the oil and gas sector to increase production…Read More>>

The investment marks the largest financing venture yet under the G7’s Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI). Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. announced a 9 billion rand ($500 million) deal that will result in Black investors holding a 13% interest in the South African mining company and the Bafokeng business it acquired last year.
