Applications are now open to apply for the chance to perform at the 11th edition of Sauti za Busara. In past years, more than 350 groups have performed, including Cheikh Lo, Khaira Arby, Mokoomba, Samba Mapangala & Orchestra Virunga, Nneka, Natacha Atlas, Didier Awadi, Bassekou Kouyate, Jagwa Music, Tumi & the Volume, Fredy Massamba, Thandiswa, Culture Musical Club, Orchestre Poly Rythmo, Sousou & Maher Cissoko and more. The festival features live music only, i.e. no playback Note we receive hundreds of applications every year. All artists have to complete online application and send recordings to reach our office before 31 July 2012. The festival selection committee meets in August and all applicants are notified of outcomes by email during September.

The second edition of DOADOA – the East African Performing Arts Market – will be held from 6th to 11th of May 2013 in Jinja, Uganda. Registration is now open! DOADOA was established as an East African platform for professional networking and co-learning among various stakeholders, organisations and
businesses with a view to create demand and develop a market for East African music and performing arts. DOADOA aims to develop skills and networks by panel discussions, workshops, master classes and to increase the exposure of East African artists and assist them in finding new markets by providing platforms for networking, showcasing and promotion.
