Discover Tsavo West and the Chyulu Hills in #Kenya

SCHEDULED FLIGHTS FROM WILSON AIRPORT TO TSAVO AND CHYULU PERMIT FOR EASY ACCESS TO SOME OF KENYA’S HIDDEN GEMS

(Posted 07th August 2019)

Safarilink’s double daily scheduled flights from Wilson Airport – Kenya’s hub airport for bush and beach flying – to Kilaguni, Finch Hattons’ and the Chyulu Hills airstrip have opened up new opportunities for visitors to the country, wishing to spend time in the parks rather than on the roads getting there.

When landing at the main Tsavo West airfield at Kilaguni, will the nearby Kilaguni Serena Lodge provide transport to the lodge, also the best choice of accommodation in this park. Game drives are available from the lodge too and in fact does a combination beckon of traveling one segment of the journey with the new SGR railway passenger train.
The arguably biggest attraction are the Mzima Springs, which provides a source of water to wildlife in the area since times immemorial.

When landing at the Finch Hattons’ does tented luxury await passengers and again is the camp providing all transport from arrival to departure, game drives included.

A rhino sanctuary beckons tourists to visit on the foot of the Ngulia Hills, within easy reach during an extended game drive from either Kilaguni Serena or Finch Hattons.

Lastly of course but not the least comes the landing in the Chyulu Hills, today also a national park where besides the ultra luxurious Campi Ya Kanzi other accommodation is also available, all of them providing transport from and back to the airstrip and the game drives in between.

The daily flight schedule of Safarilink is shown below, offering a morning departure from Wilson Airport at 07.30 hrs (7.30 a.m.) while the afternoon flight leaves Wilson at 14.00 hrs (2 p.m.).

During the season when the migration has come across the Mara river into the Masai Mara, and the lodges and park is packed with visitors and vehicles, can tourists seeking a greater degree of solitude, enjoy the more intense search for wildlife and then reap the rewards when seeing rhinos, lions and elephants literally all alone and having them for themselves for as long as they like to observe.
