ILLEGAL DEVELOPMENTS SERVED WITH A CEASE AND DESIST ORDER

(Posted 07th August 2019)

Some so called ‘developers’ in Nairobi, thinking they could get away with environmental murder – metaphorically speaking of course – had in recent times launched building developments in an area of Nairobi near the SGR railway station in Syokimau.
The masterminds behind these illegal developments clearly thought that after the Kenya Wildlife Service had legally excised a section of park land for the development of the Southern Bypass and later on for the new SGR railway line, that they could get away with their land grab.
Their bold move however was soon spotted and reported and the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife yesterday cracked the whip over them and directed the Kenya Wildlife Service that each and everyone found occupying national park land be served with orders to cease construction, vacate the land and begin the restoration of the illegally occupied plots to their former state.

ATCNews was unable to access the area in question to obtain photographic evidence but is currently investigating related allegations of land grab attempts and will report on findings in due course.
