“There are discussions underway to expand Seychelles’ diplomatic reach, particularly in countries where we currently do not have resident ambassadors,” said Dr Alain St Ange, Ambassador at Large of the Republic of Seychelles, in an interview with the local media following the presentation of instruments by the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Dr Patrick Herminie, last Thursday at State House.
He added that, “accreditation to these jurisdictions will enhance our visibility and strengthen our engagement internationally, and I have conveyed my readiness to discharge this responsibility.“
“We also held substantive discussions on the tourism sector, including how I can support the ongoing work of the Minister responsible through coordinated efforts that reinforce the country’s position during a particularly challenging period. Global developments, including the ongoing conflict affecting key transit routes such as Qatar and Dubai, continue to disrupt aviation flows and impact tourism arrivals to Seychelles,” St Ange highlighted.
“Our collective objective,” he noted, “will help the country consolidate itself and strengthen the resilience of the tourism industry during this difficult time.”
