Kampala, Nairobi and the Dar es Salaam are the cities visited by a delegation from Dubai Tourism working hand in hand with key partners like Emirates, FlyDubai and Kenya Airways, DMC’s from Dubai like Alpha Tours and of course a number of hotels and attractions, all keen to showcase what the City that never sleeps has in store for visitors.
Last year did over 38.000 Ugandans visit the UAE’s most vibrant city and with several airlines flying from Entebbe to Dubai are many options on the table to get there, nonstop with Emirates and FlyDubai or with Kenya Airways via Nairobi or RwandAir via Kigali. Affordable fares combined with special events like the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Dubai Food Festival or the Dubai Summer Surprises act like a magnet and draw ever larger numbers to Dubai.
Mr. Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations at FlyDubai who is part of the roadshow in fact said: ‘We are very pleased to take part in Dubai Tourism’s first-ever roadshow to East Africa and to showcase brand Dubai and FlyDubai. We are committed to opening up underserved markets and providing reliable, direct air links to destinations that previously had no or very few connections to Dubai. East Africa is a very important market that has shown significant growth over the past few years. We currently operate 82 weekly flights to 11 points in Africa, including 3 weekly flights to Entebbe and 4 weekly flights to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. These weekly frequencies will increase to 4 flights to Entebbe and 7 flights to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar from October‘.
The roadshow was well attended by the Ugandan travel trade and a large number of individuals keen to learn more about a destination which has progressively become one of the world’s most visited cities.
The event now moves to Nairobi before concluding in Dar es Salaam a few days later.
