ECAir of Congo Brazzaville set to host next year’s AFRAA AGA

CONGO BRAZZAVILLE’S ECAIR DRUMS UP EARLY SUPPORT FOR THE 2015 AFRAA AGA

(Posted 18th November 2014)

Mrs. Fatima Beyina-Houssa, CEO of ECAir based in Brazzaville / Republic of Congo, was last week elected as President of AFRAA, the African Airline Association for a one year term of office. ECAir (www.flyecair.com) will be the official host for the next Annual General Assembly of AFRAA, due to be held in November 2015 in Brazzaville.

Mrs. Beyina-Houssa, after her election was confirmed, had this to say: ‘ECAir is honoured and humbled to be chosen by our association to host the 47th AFRAA Annual General Assembly. ECAir is happy to welcome you next year to Brazzaville Republic of Congo, at the centre of beautiful continent. We are looking forward to giving you taste of central Africa while discussing challenges our industry faces’.

ECAir was founded in 2011 and is operating a fleet of 5 aircraft comprising of two Boeing B737-300’s, one B737-700 and two B757’s, flying from their hub at Brazzaville’s Maya Maya Airport to six destinations, domestically to Pointe Noire and Oyo and internationally to Cotonou, Douala, Dubai and Paris.

The airline, in which the Congo government holds 70 percent of the shares, is not on the EU ‘Black List’ as a result of having technical services provided by Switzerland’s PrivateAir.

AFRAA will in coming months, together with ECAir, progressively release additional information about next year’s Annual General Assembly to which once again hundreds of delegates together with sponsor’s representatives and personnel of aircraft manufacturers and other suppliers are expected.
