Uganda Airlines is presently expanding its network with the addition of both Mumbai / India and also Lagos / Nigeria, the new destinations coming on line on October 07th and October 19th respectively, as reported earlier by ATCNews.
This expansion happens alongside the introduction of daily flights from Entebbe to Johannesburg, prompted by the withdrawal at the end of August by South African airline Airlink.
The flights to Mumbai, via Dubai, are timed to ensure easy connectivity in Entebbe from the airline’s other African destinations, as connecting traffic is now one of the key focus points by Uganda Airlines, also posing challenges for the Entebbe International Airport, where much fewer connecting passengers were recorded in the past, compared to regional giant Nairobi or even the airport in Kigali.
With the coming on line of Lagos have substantial efforts been made to sell Uganda Airlines’ destination in not just Eastern Africa but now also Dubai and Mumbai in the Nigerian market and the use of the ultra modern Airbus A330-800Neo – configured in a three class layout of Business, Premium Economy and Economy will give passengers an inflight comfort only comparable with the most advanced airlines.
