ETHIOPIAN NAMED AS ‘BEST AIRLINE TO AFRICA’ BY APEX
(Posted 24th September 2014)
The US based ‘Airline Passenger Experience Association – in short APEX’ has during their just concluded annual congress in Anaheim / California named Ethiopian Airlines as Africa’s best for the second time. The airline was nominated for four awards and captured the arguably most important one which was up for grabs for airlines flying from the US to Africa.
Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport has long held the FAA’s coveted Cat 1 ranking, allowing for direct flights into the US, something few other airports on the continent have accomplished, explaining the relative lack of nonstop services between Africa and the United States.
Ethiopian Airlines, one of three Star Alliance members in Africa – the other two being South African Airways and Egypt Air – is arguably considered as the continent’s largest airline with the most extensive route network, covering Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and America.
