(Posted 14th June 2014)

Following the launch of a once a week cargo service from Abu Dhabi to Entebbe on the 26th of May has Etihad now announced that a combined cargo flight from the UAE capital city to Dar es Salaam and Nairobi has been added as of Friday this week, when the inaugural flight took place, though the scheduled traffic day will from next week onwards be a Monday.

The airline will deploy an A330-200F on the route, offering up to 64 metric tons of cargo space to uplift flowers, fish and other perishable goods like fresh fruits and vegetables to the Gulf and beyond while providing southbound cargo space for time critical imports which have to come by air.

While presently only operating passenger services to Nairobi, flights code shared with Kenya Airways, the national airline of Abu Dhabi is now offering cargo services to three of the five East African Community member states Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.
