CEO – Gary Segal:
We have spent a great deal of time thinking about the kind of person we need to take this business forward. We’ve talked to many experienced safari hands and we really do think we have made a winning choice in appointing Gary Segal to be the new CEO of Cheli and Peacock Safaris.
In fact, Gary is already in post. He joined us in May and hit the ground running with a full induction tour of Kenya and Tanzania, fam trips and supplier meetings. He is already getting to grips with the C&P way and we are super excited with his progress.
Originally from South Africa, Gary now calls East Africa home. He spent the last four and a half years in Kampala as Group General Manager for the Wildplaces Africa Group, incorporating The Uganda Safari Company. Gary has a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and great business sense, combined with a personal passion for the REAL safari. We are confident he will continue to grow this dynamic company and drive us all to exceed clients’ expectations.

Sales Manager – Judy Lagat:
Many of you already know Judy – a professional with a wealth of experience spanning 2 decades, Judy has worked with Cheli & Peacock for 8 years and since Nov 2013, safari operations have been in her capable hands as Operations Manager. We are now delighted to announce that Judy has been promoted to Sales Manager / Gary’s right hand – overseeing the Sales Consultant teams on a day to day basis.
Judy is your main point of contact, after your Sales Consultant. Do not hesitate to copy in Judy and Gary, if you need extra support and especially on difficult or complicated files.

Marketing Manager – Kath Leonard:
Kath joined the team this week, and takes over Marketing from Kaya, who had to leave in haste mid-June due to family issues. It is wonderful to have Kath here picking up the reins and getting stuck in!
Kath comes from a long family line of Kenyan safari specialists including her mum and grandfather. She has worked with a variety of media, marketing and sales channels, including the most watched TV channel out of South Africa, as well as marketing work and launches for international hotel chains in Kenya and South Africa

General Manager Tanzania –
Patrick Bourgeix:
Quick update on the Tanzania office – Patrick continues to head up our great Arusha team. For those of you who don’t know Patrick, he is an old hand in the tourism industry; first in France for 20 years, then in Nairobi for 7 years and Arusha for 4 years.
He has been heading up the C&P office in Arusha since 2015, so nice to have an experienced stable set of hands running that ship.

Operations Manager Tanzania –
Sofie Ponsaerts:
Sofie joined us in May this year. Another experienced set of hands, Sofie has been working in the Tanzania safari industry for 8 years, she joins us from A&K Operations Arusha, where she worked for the last 6 years. It has been a very busy season, all running smoothly under the watch of Sofie, Patrick and their team.

Product Consultant – Antonia Glen:
Many of you know Antonia, who has been working part time as Sales Manager for many years. Antonia has taken a step back, to spend more time with her family, but we are very happy to welcome her back into the office occasionally to do product training with the Sales teams. |
Finance Manager – Quentin Savage:
Last but not least, we thought we would throw in a pic of our terrific Finance Manager, Quentin – he and his team also play a pivotal role in keeping our services tight and accurate. |
Stefano & Liz:
We’re stepping back … just a little …. from the day to day running of the business. Our role is now to support the new team and provide direction at Board level. We will be splitting our time between Loisaba and the Nairobi office and engagements with our trade partners.
For those of you going to Pure, ITB and WAA – we look forward to catching up with you there and having the opportunity to personally introduce you to Gary.
