Farmers in Igembe North seek compensation for elephant damage

Farmers in Igembe North Constituency in Meru County, whose crops were destroyed by elephants, are calling on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to fast-track compensation. Speaking to Citizen Digital, the farmers said that the relief food, recently distributed by the government, is insufficient compared to the harvest they lost. Each affected household received a bag of maize, a bag of beans and eight kilograms of porridge flour.
