Fastjet’s Communication Department, through Nunurai Ndawana, Digital Content and Media Officer, issued the following statement about the various delays their flights between Zimbabwe and South Africa and on domestic routes in Zimbabwe had experienced:
The situation has since returned to normal after the bird strike damage on one aircraft was repaired, an incident for which the airline bears no responsibility as bird control is vested in the airports and airport operators.
Weather related delays however are considered as ‘Force Majeur’ and here, more than anywhere else, does the principle of #SafetyFirst stand.
