FASTJET STRIKES NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH VENERE.COM

(Posted 19th June 2014)

Value addition for passengers ranks high with Fastjet, which over the past year has begun to establish itself not just as a provider of low cost flights, at least for those who book early enough, but has also added a range of additional features, code shares and service options available to passenger through their website.

The latest news now is that earlier this week the airline signed a deal with Venere.com – a member of the Expedia group, the world’s largest online travel agency. Fastjet passengers will be able to book hotel rooms at their destination through www.fastjet.com initially as a ‘co-brand’ but later to be fully integrated into the booking process a passenger goes through when firming up a flight including using the same payment mechanism.

Ellis Cain-Jones, Head of Commercial at Fastjet, said when making the announcement: ‘This is another key milestone in the roll-out of fastjet’s ancillary products and revenue generation plan. Accommodation is a natural add-on for both our leisure and business customers and this partnership offers an extensive choice of hotels across the continent. We are particularly happy that Venere.com has accommodated our mid-term multi-channel requirements, enabling fastjet passengers without internet access to book through our 24 hour call centre following the launch’.
