Fastjet Zimbabwe officially welcomed the Airbus A320-200 aircraft to
its Flying Programme on Sunday, the 2nd of August 2026 at an event at Victoria Falls
International Airport.
The Airbus A320 aircraft will support the airline’s Flying Programme during the peak months
of August and September 2026 on the high demand routes of, Victoria Falls to Johannesburg
and Harare to Johannesburg.
During this period, the airline will offer a Business Premium product, featuring extra-wide
seats located at the front of the aircraft, curated menu options, including a full bar service
on select times of the day and access to business class lounges, additional baggage with a
combined weight of 46 kgs.
Speaking at the welcome event, fastjet Zimbabwe Chairman, Farai Mutamangira said, “The
aviation market in Zimbabwe has grown and continues to grow. I am proud to say over the
past 10 years Fastjet Zimbabwe has been part of that effort to grow our aviation by
stimulating demand from the base, with our tag line fastjet ForEveryone. We have therefore
massively supported our economy by connecting our domestic network and regional
network”.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Tongai Mnangagwa remarked
that, “Today, we commend Fastjet Zimbabwe for its confidence in our nation. Bringing the
Airbus A320 into your fleet is not merely an investment in aviation; it is an investment in
Zimbabwe’s future. It strengthens our national airlift capacity, enhances destination
accessibility and reinforces our position as one of Africa’s emerging tourism destinations”.
In remarks read on his behalf, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development
Honourable Felix Mhona, concluded, congratulating fastjet Zimbabwe on this development.
“I look forward to flying on the Airbus A320, and I also call upon fastjet Zimbabwe to establish
ways of making this a permanent addition to its fleet. As the Ministry of Transport and
Infrastructural Development, we stand ready to assist and ensure that this becomes a
reality”.
