Fleet expansion on the cards for #Kenya’s #Jambojet

JAMBOJET PLANS FOR FOUR MORE #BOMBARDIER Q400’S TO LAUNCH MORE DESTINATIONS

(Posted 15th February 2018)

On the sidelines of the inaugural Jambojet flight between Nairobi and Entebbe did news emerge, that the Kenya Airways owned LCC has plans to double their existing fleet.
Presently flying three Bombardier Q400NextGen turbo prop aircraft has the airline given the clearest indication yet that, when they begin to roll out more regional destinations, additional aircraft will be needed.
Usually well informed sources speak of two more preowned Q400’s to join the fleet by mid year while two additional new Q400’s are due to come on line in the early part of next year.
Jambojet’s air service license was modified last year to include regional destinations, among them Entebbe where the inaugural flight arrived yesterday and which Jambojet will serve twice a day.
Other regional destinations include Kigali, Dar es Salaam, Addis Ababa and Juba and the airline is now awaiting landing rights approval from the aviation authorities in Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Sudan before planning for the additional flights.

With one way fares as low as under 120 US Dollars one way between Nairobi and Entebbe – this is the lowest possible fare and bookings nearer to the departure date attract often substantially higher fares – will savvy travelers very likely take advantage of being able to fly at lower cost compared to the legacy airlines on these routes.
