FlyAfrica flight launch ‘delayed’ till later in the year

FLYAFRICA ZIMBABWE DELAYS LAUNCH AS SOCIAL MEDIA ABUZZ WITH REFUND CLAIMS

(Posted 19th July 2017)

Questions raised a few months ago, when first indications emerged that FlyAfrica was to be revived, are coming back to haunt the new owners of the airline which has gone out of business in late 2015.
At the time it was suggested NOT to use the same name which had been spoiled almost beyond repair when hundreds of wannabe passengers were duped by the then management to pay for tickets for flights which for all intent and purpose were never to take off after the AOC of the airline had been withdrawn by the Zimbabwe Civil Aviation Authority.

Now this scenario is unfolding with social media once again abuzz over FlyAfrica and individual asking where they can find their offices to claim their still pending refunds.
Local aviation pundits expect the flight launch not before end August or even later than that, should the airline’s new owners be dragged to court over such refund claims and with cost already running away – two Boeing B737-300’s have been procured for flight operations by FlyAfrica – is the stage set for yet more doubts if and how this new venture is going to either take off or remain on the ground.
With just weeks to go to the second start up date – June passed without the airline taking to the skies – is no marketing campaign visible as yet other than a few signboards with the one below showing the same disturbing slogan ‘The Revolution Continues‘ only to be asked once again if the revolution is not again eating its children.
