GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO DESERVE THEM …

(Posted 14th October 2020)

The challenges of the world’s worst pandemic in a hundred years notwithstanding, has the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport once again captured the title of ‘Best Airport Hotel in Africa‘ – for the third time in fact.

• Four Points by Sheraton awarded as Best Airport Hotel Africa and Best Airport Hotel Kenya
• The hotel was previously awarded Best Airport Hotel in Africa in 2018 and 2019/2020
• The hotel continues to set the standard in health and safety through the challenges of COVID19

The award announcement marks a moment of pride and joy for the hotel. It comes at an opportune time when much of the world’s hospitality industry is facing extreme downturns due to the ongoing pandemic.

In Kenya and across Eastern Africa, hotels, resorts and safari lodges / camps have seen a marked decline in occupancy compared to 2019 which for many countries in the region was a record year.

As Africa’s Leading Airport Hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport hotel plays a pivotal role for international travellers, business travellers as well as serving the surrounding community. The hotel opted to continue running the hotel right through April, May, June and July; and is currently operating with a full-service offering running meeting spaces, guest rooms and dining.
This has been achieved by ordering and deploying innovative health and safety measures, placing an emphasis on enhanced guest service as well as focusing on employee health and safety.
Africa’s Leading Hotel is paving the way as one of the success stories in the hospitality industry striving to navigate these challenging times.
Vivek Mathur, General Manager Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi noted “Going on to win the accolade for Best Luxury Airport Hotel in Africa for 2021 is particularly meaningful given the current challenges. It is a testament to our commitment to guests and the industry. This award also serves as a reminder that the hard work our team puts in to guarantee health and safety does not go unnoticed.”

As restrictions for travel continue to get eased or lifted and the country continues to move forward, Mr Mathur further noted further “We are moving full steam ahead to meet all the requirements of our guests, whether travellers or the corporate community surrounding us. We are here for the long term.”

These awards are the most acclaimed industry awards, acknowledged globally. They are judged by an independent panel of 80 industry professionals chaired by Lord Thurso, a member of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. It is an achievement that is recognized as a mark of excellence for the hospitality industries world wide.
Key areas the judges assess on include: design, quality, food, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability. Further information on the awards can be found www.ihotelawards.com
